Will Provider - Derby Wills
When writing a will we find that most of our customers prefer to use our home visit option.
It is usually the most convenient as you will ideally have certain documents and information we ask for as part of our process to hand already.
We are happy to arrange an appointment to visit you in the comfort of your own home or even at work.
We do not charge any extra to write a will from a home appointment for Derbyshire residents, however if you would prefer office based appointments we can arrange for a meeting room at the office where there is also disabled parking close to the front door for easy access to the meeting rooms, this is available on request only.
Our fixed fee Derby Wills pricing involves two meetings as we find that the will writing process can be completed for most, if not all this way.
The first meeting
consists of getting to know you so we can understand what is important to you and what you intend to achieve by writing a will.
Our will consultant will advise the best way forward to achieve what you want.
We take down a lot of information during the first meeting so having to hand information that you think may be useful to help the process is extremely beneficial, this can include:
This can be in the form of your driving license, passport, current State Pension notification letter
The full names and addresses of people you wish to place in your Will
This is extremely helpful information to have to hand, double-checking with relatives how a name is spelt, or having already clarified addresses can cut make the process a little easy.
After this you’ll receive a draft copy to review, you can elect to have a physical draft copy dropped off through the post or a digital email copy, whichever suits your reading style.
This is the time to read through the draft copy and ensure it fits with all the requests that you have made for your will, and check the names, addresses are correct.
If you've had the copy of the will posted through your letter box you'll receive a self-addressed envelope to return in which you can notify us of any corrections you have, or notify us you are happy to go forward with the final professionally bound Will.
If you've chosen to receive a digital email copy of the Will then all you need to do is reply to that email instead with the same information.
Why do we offer a two meeting Will writing process as standard?
The second meeting is straight-forward:
The professionally bound Will has now been created and it’s time to sign it.
Will Provider oversee and guide you through the signing of the will as we believe this is one of the most important parts to the will and is crucial to ensure that not only is it signed, but it is signed correctly in front of witnesses.
We take this approach as Will Provider believe in delivering a complete and comprehensive service as standard, we do not leave you on your own at the most vital point of a Wills validity: the signing and witnessing.
As Derby Will Specialists we have over the years heard some horrendous stories of how Wills have been purchased and customers have received the Will they’ve paid for from a Wills Solicitor or Company but were either provided with poor instructions and signed the Will incorrectly or never got around to signing the Will, some not even realising they had to sign the Will leaving them with an invalid Will.
Will Provider do not feel like this is an adequate service, and have incorporated the two meeting process as standard to leave you with the upmost confidence in the service and product you’ve paid for.
You may know exactly where you’re going to store your documents after they have been completed, signed and witnessed as part of Will Providers fixed fee will writing process, but it may also be something you haven’t given much thought.
You must keep your Will in a safe place – but it also needs to be a place easily accessible and known by at least one person so when the document is needed it can be found.
Our consultants will be able to give you advice on suitable storage solutions if you wish to store the documents yourself, but you may also wish to enquire about Will Providers safe and secure storage solutions for wills and legal documents.
